AT A GLANCE

The VHOLUME demo is a limited movement sample with four announced main maps; the full game adds the complete campaign and Workshop while removing the idea that every later map requires a medal time.

Use the VHOLUME demo to test whether the movement, camera, and performance suit you; buy the full game for the complete campaign and Steam Workshop. The June 10 demo update includes four main maps—two from the first demo and two new levels—plus secrets and multiplayer. VHOLUME then released on Windows on August 21 with its full adventure, online features, and community-made Workshop levels.

The progression difference that causes confusion

An older demo discussion describes beating a bronze time to open the next demo area. The developer clarified that this is primarily a tutorial gate: the bronze target should require basic jumping and wall-running, not an expert speedrun.

The same developer reply says the full game does not require players to beat special times to unlock every map. Completing a level advances to the next one even with a slower run. Target times, ghosts, medals, and leaderboards remain optional goals for players who want to optimise.

That distinction matters when an older video says “beat this time to continue.” Check whether the footage is from the demo and whether the same gate exists in the current released level.

What the demo can tell you before buying

  • Whether first-person parkour and rapid camera motion feel comfortable.
  • Whether your PC can run the game acceptably in representative environments.
  • Whether buffered jumps, wall-running, climbing, and sliding feel readable.
  • Whether online multiplayer works for your network and group during the demo's available scope.
  • Whether route repetition and target-time improvement are enjoyable.

The demo cannot prove the length, variety, later difficulty, complete story, or quality of every Workshop map. It also cannot be used as a current review of content that is only present in the full game.

Before moving from the demo to the full game

  1. Check the full store page for the current price and requirements.
  2. Do not uninstall the demo because you assume a save transfer is needed; no transfer promise is documented here.
  3. Expect full-game progression to follow level completion rather than requiring elite times everywhere.
  4. Use speedrun movement basics if the bronze gate is the problem.
  5. Use multiplayer and ghosts to distinguish a live session from an asynchronous ghost.

QUICK ANSWERS

Questions players ask next

How many maps are in the VHOLUME demo?

The June 10 official demo announcement names four main maps—two returning and two new—plus secrets. That is the announced demo scope, not the full-game map count.

Does the VHOLUME demo have multiplayer?

Yes. The second demo announcement explicitly includes multiplayer. The released game also lists online multiplayer, ghosts, leaderboards, and Workshop support.

Does VHOLUME demo progress carry into the full game?

No official source checked for this page promises demo save or medal transfer. Treat the demo as a separate sample unless the game displays a current transfer notice.
