What kind of game it is
Orbitals follows Maki and Omura as they try to save their space-station home from a supernatural cosmic storm. Shapefarm develops the game and Kepler publishes it. The core structure is built around two people coordinating complementary actions, traversal, and puzzles.
That two-player contract is specific. The store lists two local players and two online players, not one-to-two or two-to-four. It should not be sold as a solo campaign with optional co-op unless Nintendo later documents an AI or solo mode.
Online access has more than one path. Nintendo lists online GameShare and a Global Friend's Pass. GameShare through GameChat and Friend's Pass do not have identical setup rules, and Nintendo Switch Online is required for online play. Local split screen keeps both players on one system.
Editions and ownership
Deluxe includes the base game, a digital artbook and soundtrack, two character costumes, and two ship skins. Nintendo also lists a $14.99 Deluxe Upgrade Pack for owners of the base game. None of those extras changes the two-player requirement.
Save Data Cloud and family-group game lending are listed. Those services have account and eligibility rules; they do not mean two unrelated users permanently own separate copies. This overview explains access but does not invent puzzle routes before launch.
