What to know before you play
Grounded 2's Into the Abyss update is live. The August 11 update opens Skunk Pond for above-water and underwater exploration, adds diving progression and underwater base building, introduces new threats, and adds the amphibious Toe-biter Buggy. Grounded 2 remains a developing Game Preview and Early Access title rather than a finished 1.0 release.

What Grounded 2 is now
Grounded 2 is a survival game about teenagers reduced to insect scale inside Brookhollow Park. Solo players and co-op groups gather materials, craft equipment, build bases, fight oversized wildlife, and travel with Buggies that function as both mounts and combat partners. Shared worlds let a group continue the same survival space rather than tying every session to one host's local save.
Into the Abyss is the current center of attention because it changes where players can go and what they need to survive. Skunk Pond is not simply a decorative biome. Xbox's update briefing identifies diving gear, underwater building options, resources, threats, progression, and an amphibious Buggy. That supports an update reference. It does not support a complete interactive map, every recipe, or a step-by-step boss solution from the announcement alone.

Game Preview and Early Access labels matter. Areas, recipes, balance, performance, and progression can change between builds. Any future walkthrough on this site must name the current version and prove the route in that build. Until then, the useful answers are the official update scope and the exact access options.
