GAME INTRODUCTION
What to know before you play
WARDOGS is a Windows PC tactical FPS scheduled to enter Steam Early Access on September 10, 2026. BULKHEAD and Team17 describe battles with up to 100 players divided among three competing teams. The objective is territory control across randomized Control Zones, with infantry, vehicles, building, and destruction all contributing to the match.
That is the useful answer before launch. There is not yet a reliable basis for a “best class,” weapon tier list, recoil setup, map route, or performance-tuning guide. Those pages require the public Early Access build, a named version, and repeatable evidence.

Choose the page that answers your question
- Release date, platforms, price, and editions — for PC, PS5, Xbox, Switch, Steam Deck, price, and Early Access status.
- Closed beta and Steam Playtest access — for the August 21–23 test, guaranteed preorder access, and the difference between Playtest requests and preorders.
- PC requirements, performance targets, and Easy Anti-Cheat — for hardware and Steam Deck risk.
- Three-team match format, Control Zones, cash, building, and destruction — for the actual rules published before Early Access.
The official PC requirements are also summarized on the release page so a buyer can check the operating system, memory, graphics card, storage, and published performance target in one place.
What the three-team design changes
Two-team shooters normally let one side read every fight as a direct front. WARDOGS adds a third force that can attack a position already under pressure. The official description also says Control Zones are randomized for each operation, so a route that works in one match should not be published as a permanent opening.
The 2 × 2 km scale and combined-arms feature list suggest that infantry and vehicles have different jobs, but the pre-release material does not establish which class, squad composition, vehicle, or spawn pattern is strongest. Those are launch-build questions.
What remains unconfirmed
No official source checked for this page confirms PS5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch, macOS, or Linux versions. Steam Deck support is also not promised; the current Windows-only requirements and kernel-level anti-cheat make it something to test after release rather than infer.
The store page presents Early Access as an evolving build. Map count, class balance, weapon statistics, progression speed, server behavior, and optimization can all change. Player reports from a closed beta can identify questions worth checking, but they should not be silently reused as September 10 instructions.
