GAME INTRODUCTION
What to know before you play

Heroes of Might and Magic III Remake is a new Ubisoft remake scheduled for 2027 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. It is not the 1999 original, the 2015 HD Edition, or Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era. Ubisoft is rebuilding the game in Snowdrop with a 3D world and free camera while retaining the original continent, both expansions, all original campaigns, nine factions, solo play, and multiplayer for up to eight players.
The familiar loop remains visible in Ubisoft's description: move heroes across the adventure map, secure resources and artifacts, expand towns, develop heroes, assemble armies, and fight on a tactical grid. That makes this a useful starting point for players deciding whether the remake contains the part of Heroes III they care about. It is not yet evidence for faction strategy, campaign routes, optimal builds, or a quality verdict.

Four similarly named products, four different answers
| Product | What it is | Why the distinction matters |
|---|---|---|
| Heroes of Might and Magic III / Complete | The classic game and its expansion package | Old routes and mods belong to the classic build unless remake compatibility is explicitly confirmed |
| Heroes III HD Edition | The 2015 remaster based on The Restoration of Erathia | It does not represent the remake's announced two-expansion package |
| Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era | A separate new game in the series | Its factions, systems, release information, and requirements do not answer remake questions |
| Heroes of Might and Magic III Remake | The new 2027 Snowdrop rebuild | This is the PS5, Xbox Series, PC, and Ubisoft+ release covered here |
The August 25 announcement also coincided with Ubisoft's gamescom 2026 coverage. Ubisoft's event schedule named a Heroes III Remake panel, but the checked material does not announce a public demo or provide hands-on build details.

What remains unknown
Ubisoft has not detailed combat AI, adventure-map AI, difficulty settings, price, editions, exact system requirements, crossplay, cross-progression, controller features, or console performance modes. Steam's “Artificial Intelligence” label is a user-defined tag, not an official specification of opponent behavior. There are also no user reviews for the unreleased remake, so a score or player-consensus section would be premature.
