What to know before you play

What is actually included
The 12 sports are Tennis, Bowling, Archery, Boxing, Volleyball, Table Tennis, Basketball, Golf, Thumb Wrestling, Prop Plane, Skateboarding, and Power Cruising. That list mixes returning Wii Sports Resort activities with events from Nintendo Switch Sports and new control ideas.
Most activities use Joy-Con 2 motion controls. Skateboarding uses the Joy-Con 2 mouse function. Nintendo says the game is played in TV or tabletop mode, so it should not be described as a normal handheld-only game controlled solely with buttons.
Local play supports one to four people. Online play is confirmed, but Nintendo's US listing does not give one universal maximum for every sport. Player counts can differ by event; the accurate page preserves that boundary rather than turning the four-player local maximum into an unsupported online claim.
How it differs from Nintendo Switch Sports
This is a separate Switch 2 game, not a free update for the 2022 Switch title. It moves the setting to Wuhu Island, expands the launch set to 12 sports, and adds Joy-Con 2-specific control use. Ownership of Nintendo Switch Sports does not create an upgrade entitlement in the current product information.
No review score or “best sport” ranking belongs here before release. The page can confirm what is included and how to play; handling quality, online stability, and motion accuracy require the retail version.
