FAST ANSWER

Use Steam Workshop for the supported install path, check branch and mod versions, and disable mods before diagnosing a base-game bug.

Slay the Spire 2 official Steam artwork

Slay the Spire 2 officially supports mods through Steam Workshop. Mega Crit says the game had an integrated mod loader from day one, and Workshop support reached the main branch in the June v0.107.1 update.

Install through the supported path

  1. Open the Slay the Spire 2 page in the Steam client.
  2. Open its Workshop and subscribe to the desired mod.
  3. Let Steam complete the download before launching the game.
  4. Check the mod's stated game version, dependencies, and branch support.
  5. Add one mod at a time when testing a new setup.

A Workshop listing is community-created content, not a Mega Crit balance guarantee. Early Access patches can change cards, relics, enemies, save formats, or APIs. A mod that worked on an older beta can fail on the current main branch even when Workshop itself is working.

If the game breaks after adding a mod

Disable the newest mod first, then reproduce the issue without any mods. Confirm whether Steam is on the default or public beta branch. If the clean game works, report the branch, game version, mod version, dependency list, and load order to the mod author. If the clean game still fails, use the in-game feedback route and describe that the issue was reproduced without mods.

Do not use a modded run to prove a base-game card value or boss behavior. Guides on this site should name the mod when it materially changes a result. For branch status, use the current update page; for future platform plans, use platform availability.
