WHAT CHANGED

Patch 9 is an endings hotfix that returns every save to the start of court; Patch 7 introduced the branching endings behind it, and the developer's own known-issue list still names New Game+, the main menu, and voice-volume problems.

Ledgerbound is on Patch #9 (October 16, 2026), an endings hotfix that also returns every save to the start of court. Patch #9 fixes the bug that handed out a bad ending after good decisions and streamlines the ending flow. It sits on top of Patch #7's branching endings and Patch #8's temporary holiday content, so a guide written before October describes a different game.

What Patch 9 does to your save

QuestionOfficial answer
What was brokenPlayers could receive a bad ending even after making good decisions
What changedThe ending flow was streamlined so good decisions are more appropriately rewarded
What happens to progressGame progress is reset to the start of court
Who is affectedPlayers who beat the game or got stuck in a bad ending
What it is notA full new-game reset; it returns you to the court sequence to replay the ending

If you were mid-run somewhere other than court, expect to be moved back. The note does not promise a way to skip the reset.

Branching endings arrived in Patch 7

Patch #7 on October 1 added the endings that Patch 9 then fixed:

  • The ending depends on whether you throw the court case and what the final payout is.
  • Downloading that patch returned players to the beginning of court once — a one-time reset, not a permanent rule.
  • Critical Decisions are now explicitly labelled as critical.
  • The court UI now shows settlement offers.

Patch #7 also fixed a softlock where a trap killed a character while it was moving to act, a bug where quitting on the defeat screen re-defeated and re-penalized you on reload, conversation branches locked behind the wrong relationship level, health bars not updating after start-of-turn triggers, Sylvie's portrait animation, Pallas playing other casters' lines, a conversation that skipped its remainder after quitting mid-scene, and at least one typo.

Holiday content and the demo

Patch #8 on October 14 added free spooky holiday content available until November 9, 2026 and extended the free demo to October 19. It also added a pause-menu option to quit to the title screen — relevant because "no direct main-menu return" is still on the known-issue list.

Issues the developer still lists

The Patch #7 announcement carries the most recent official known-issue list. Later patches did not republish it:

  • New Game+ is not available.
  • Completing the game can break the game.
  • Returning to the main menu is still awkward, even after the Patch #8 pause-menu option.
  • Voice line volumes remain inconsistent.
  • HR Trainings can hide time and burnout costs when you lack enough time to take them.
  • Some voice-over and text lines still do not match.

Patch #9 addresses endings, not this list. Treat any claim that Patch #9 fixed New Game+ or the post-game title screen as unsourced.

An August or September guide may describe a single ending, a specific dialogue gate, or a battle-replay cost that no longer exists. The patch notes name the categories that changed but almost never publish the new numbers. Where a threshold matters — a relationship level, a payout, a burnout cost — treat it as needing current-build evidence rather than a value quoted from a pre-October video.

QUICK ANSWERS

Questions players ask next

What does Ledgerbound Patch 9 change?

Patch 9 fixes a bug that gave players a bad ending after good decisions, streamlines the ending flow, and returns game progress to the start of court so the intended ending can be replayed.

Did Patch 9 reset my progress?

Progress is reset to the start of court, not to a new game. The official note says this is so players who finished or got stuck can replay court for the intended ending.

How do Ledgerbound's branching endings work?

Patch 7 says the ending depends on whether you throw the court case and on the final payout, so the same build can end differently.

Is there holiday content?

Patch 8 added free spooky holiday content available until November 9, 2026, and extended the free demo to October 19.

What problems remain after Patch 9?

The developer's Patch 7 known-issue list still names no New Game+, an empty post-game title screen, no direct main-menu return, hidden HR Training costs, uneven voice volume, and remaining text mismatches.
