Current crossplay spans the four official client families, with different limits for friend-hosted co-op and dedicated servers.
Palworld 1.0 supports crossplay among Steam, Xbox, PS5, and Mac in the current official server configuration. Friend-hosted co-op supports up to four players; a dedicated server can be configured for up to 32.
| Multiplayer format | Player boundary | Best use |
|---|---|---|
| Friend-hosted co-op | Up to 4 | A small group that plays when the host is present |
| Dedicated server | Up to 32 | A persistent world with a separate server process |
| Community server | Up to the configured server limit | A dedicated server discoverable in the in-game list |
Crossplay still depends on compatible game versions and server settings. The current configuration key is CrossplayPlatforms, whose default set is Steam, Xbox, PS5, and Mac. Older guides may mention AllowConnectPlatform or claim PS5 cannot join; the current docs mark the former unavailable and expose the newer crossplay setting.
On PS5, online play requires PS Plus. Other console and service entitlements follow their platform rules. A crossplay failure can therefore come from version mismatch, a server allowlist, subscription state, server visibility, or a connection issue—not only from the game lacking crossplay.
