Free-to-play does not mean every item is free. NetEase sells optional Starter and Radiance packs, passes, cosmetics, and other in-game purchases. A player only needs the free base download to start; a paid pack is not a hidden console admission fee.
Download the correct console version
- Xbox Series X|S: open Xbox Store, search for Once Human, choose the base game marked Free, and install it. The store page should identify Series X|S rather than Xbox One.
- PS5 / PS5 Pro: open PlayStation Store, search for Once Human, and choose the free live game. Do not select an add-on pack as if it were the base client.
- Old beta installation: the console open beta has ended. Use the live product page even if a test client still appears in your library.
After installation, link an existing Once Human account before creating a new console character if you want cross-progression. Creating first and linking later can put progress on the wrong account path.
