AT A GLANCE

The US PlayStation Store lists Standard at $79.99 and Ultimate at $99.99; the $20 difference buys Rockstar's named digital extras.

GTA VI costs $79.99 for Standard and $99.99 for Ultimate on the US PlayStation Store. Standard is the complete base game. Ultimate adds Rockstar's named digital items, and a separate Ultimate Edition Upgrade can be purchased later.

The $20 launch difference buys digital story items rather than early access. Rockstar's list includes vehicles, weapons and variants, clothes and styles, properties or businesses, a tattoo parlor, salon, garage, mod shops, compound, and classic-car collection, with items appearing across Jason and Lucia's chapters.

Rockstar's support page is the source of record for the entitlement list. Regional storefronts determine actual price, tax, currency, and availability; the $79.99 and $99.99 figures above are the US PlayStation snapshot, not a worldwide price promise.

Do not treat “Ultimate” as proof of early access, a season pass, every future update, or a permanent gameplay advantage unless Rockstar explicitly lists that benefit. The current launch remains November 19 for the documented editions.

A practical purchase rule is to ignore the word “Ultimate” and ask whether the listed digital story items are worth $20 to you. If not, Standard preserves access to the complete base release. If undecided, Rockstar's separately sold upgrade reduces the need to preorder Ultimate solely from fear of missing it.

Preorder benefits are a different entitlement contract. See preorder bonuses for the Vintage Vice City Pack and GTA+ window.
