Story and Arcade provide solo structure, Training and Combo Trials teach systems, while local and online Versus handle direct competition.
Use Story for the original canon narrative, Arcade for character-specific runs, Training and Combo Trials to learn mechanics, Offline Versus for local 1v1, and Online Versus for cross-platform competition.

For a new player, Training before online play is not filler. Turn on the visual data you understand, record or save a repeatable state, and answer one question at a time: does this move reach, can it be punished, what does Flow avoid, and what does the chosen support change?
The product copy also mentions Ranked, Casual, lobbies, replays, and a first ranked season. However, the current Steam copy does not present that ranked rollout as live. The current online-status page separates available core online play from announced additions.
