Online PvP is available on the released versions of Avatar Legends, but the current Steam product text does not present the first Ranked season as live. Ranked should not be presented as available until PM Studios or a platform update confirms the rollout.
- Use ordinary online Versus if you want a match now.
- Check the current in-game queue and official news for a Ranked-season launch notice.
- If Ranked is absent while Versus works, treat that as a product-timing boundary rather than a connection failure.
The online feature picture has two layers:
- Confirmed base capability: online PvP, full crossplay, and rollback netcode on supported released platforms.
- Described competitive suite: Ranked and Casual matches, lobbies, Spectator, replays, a beginner area, and new tutorials.
- Current timing boundary: Steam does not yet present the first ranked season and its listed additions as live.
This wording does not mean all online play is disabled. It means an online Versus match and a formal ranked season are different services. If normal online play works but no ranked queue appears, check the official news and store copy before reinstalling or treating it as an account fault.
Xbox is also a separate timing issue. Its US version releases September 3, so Xbox matchmaking cannot be considered part of the live US population on August 26 even though Xbox is part of the advertised crossplay plan.
