“Qualifying” matters because a game license belongs to a platform and account. An Xbox purchase does not grant a Steam, PlayStation, or Nintendo copy. Xbox Play Anywhere covers Microsoft's supported Xbox and PC ecosystem, not every PC storefront.
What physical owners can safely rely on
Xbox Wire directly states that Xbox disc-based owners can claim Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine from the Store. CD PROJEKT RED Support also says Nintendo Switch owners can claim the native Switch 2 Remastered version. Neither statement proves that a new boxed Remastered SKU will be sold.
The checked official announcement does not spell out every PS5 disc scenario or a universal cross-region disc process. If the upgrade button does not appear, the useful checks are the account that owns the game, the disc region, the current console, and the applicable platform store. Do not buy a page advertised as a “physical Remastered edition” unless its publisher and SKU are verifiable.
Price means two different things here
Existing qualifying owners pay nothing for the Remastered upgrade. New buyers purchase the current Complete Edition or native platform listing at the price shown by that store. That store price is not an “upgrade fee,” and temporary discounts are not a permanent US list price.
Songs of the Past is separate. It is a paid 2027 expansion and is not included merely because the Remastered upgrade is free. Its official price is unknown.
