On current storefronts, the standalone base-game listing is being replaced by Complete Edition, and the two older standalone expansions are being delisted. Players who already bought either expansion keep it in their library. On current platforms, the expansion content is merged into the base game through an update.
PS4 and Xbox One keep the existing version rather than receiving Remastered. On those consoles, Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine can be downloaded free. Nintendo Switch owners can claim the native Switch 2 Remastered version after it releases, according to CD PROJEKT RED Support.
Existing progress is not being erased
CD PROJEKT RED says existing save files remain compatible and Cross Progression continues to function as before. Achievements and trophies remain intact, including those tied to the two expansions. Players can also still start Hearts of Stone or Blood and Wine separately from the main menu.
That confirmation covers the entitlement change that adds the two expansions. It does not create cross-buy between Steam, PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, and Battle.net. A save remaining compatible is also different from every store granting the same license.
What a new buyer receives
The current Complete Edition contains Geralt's base campaign, Hearts of Stone, Blood and Wine, and the additional content already released for The Witcher 3. On September 29, qualifying current-generation versions move to Remastered with the announced visual, combat, movement, progression, mod, transmog, and photo-mode changes.
Songs of the Past still requires a separate purchase. Its price is unknown, so no current bundle should be assumed to include it unless the official store listing says so explicitly.
