Version 1.0.5 is the latest checked update, released August 7 across PS5, Xbox Series, and Steam with broad combat rebalancing.
Echoes of Aincrad version 1.0.5 released August 7, 2026 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam. It is a major balance pass, so launch-week weapon and difficulty advice may already be stale.
Changes that affect current play
- Story, Normal, and Hard can spawn more enemies; Normal and Hard received higher enemy HP and attack.
- Some quest bosses received higher HP and attack.
- The Summons quest now gives more starting Healing Potions and a Bombstone.
- Two-handed swords and axes gained more SP from normal and heavy hits, while swords, rapiers, daggers, and maces gained less.
- Argo's Analyze support buff was reduced so that it did not narrow partner choice as strongly.
- Multiple dagger, mace, axe, sword, and two-handed-sword skills changed speed, cost, damage, correction values, or cooldown.
- A settings toggle can disable the slow-motion and camera effects attached to Severing Kill animations.
The patch also fixed progression blockers, an occasional invincibility issue, unintended boss-area access, persistent dagger hit effects, an inventory-count bug tied to Armor of Wisdom, and an undefeatable-enemy interaction that could stop progress.
Bandai Namco says a difficulty above Very Hard is planned within 2026 and that more balance work is expected with that addition. “Planned” does not mean present in 1.0.5. Check the title-screen version before following a build, and make sure the guide names the same patch.
